The New York Giants will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football. It's time to continue our NFL odds series and make a Giants-Buccaneers prediction and pick.

This is a rare occasion when the Giants are coming off of a win and the Buccaneers are coming off of a loss. New York scored a quality win against the Las Vegas Raiders before heading into their bye week, and now they'll look to stay hot against another playoff-caliber team. The Buccaneers suffered an embarrassing  loss at the hands of the Washington Football Team in Week 10. The defense couldn't get off of the field in key spots and the offense was held to 19 points by one of the worst defenses in the NFL. Playing the Giants means that this week is the perfect chance to rebound, so it'll be interesting to see how Tampa Bay bounces back.

Why The Giants Could Cover The Spread

Article Continues Below

The Giants have obviously struggled to notch real wins, but they've been pretty solid against the spread. New York is 5-4 against the spread on the season, but things get even better for them when we look at this specific matchup. Head coach Joe Judge's squad is 3-1 ATS when they enter a road game as an underdog. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers are an uninspiring 3-6 ATS on the year. This is a pretty big spread for a team that hasn't performed well against the spread facing a team that has covered a majority of the time.

It's likely that the Buccaneers enter this game while still dealing with multiple key injuries. Defensive tackle Vita Vea hasn't practiced this week, and neither has starting wide receiver Antonio Brown. Tampa Bay's secondary is already decimated by injury, as they have several starting cornerbacks on injured reserve. The only starting corner left from the beginning of the season is Jamel Dean, and he'll have to play alongside Pierre Desir and Ross Cockrell in this game. The Giants should be able to take advantage of playing a weakened version of this Buccaneers team in this game.

Why The Buccaneers Could Cover The Spread

There's a reason why the Buccaneers are 6-3 and the Giants are 3-6. Tampa Bay is far more talented, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Quarterback Tom Brady has led one of the best passing attacks in the NFL, one that should be particularly effective against a below-average New York passing defense. The Giants have also been one of the league's worst run defenses, as they allow a whopping 122 rushing yards per game. Tampa Bay should be able to move the ball at will in this contest.

The Giants have struggled on offense the entire season, and now they encounter a defense that will force the ball into Daniel Jones's hands. The Buccaneers are obviously one of the best run defenses in the NFL, and the Giants have been incapable of running the ball all season long. That means that all the pressure will be on Jones in this game. Jones has been completely unable to torch poor pass defenses all year long, as shown by his lackluster performances against the Las Vegas Raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs. That trend is unlikely to turn around here.

Final Giants-Buccaneers Prediction & Pick

This is just too many points for the Buccaneers. The Giants should be able to scrape out a cover in this game.
