The Seattle Storm take on Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever. Our WNBA odds series has our Storm Fever prediction, odds, and pick. Find out how to watch Storm Fever.
The Caitlin Clark WNBA rookie season continues. One thing we haven't yet seen from Clark is a home-court regular-season win for the Indiana Fever. We're still waiting for the first win in front of a home crowd. The Fever's only win to this point in the young campaign is a road win in Los Angeles versus the Sparks. It is clear that 2024 is a developmental year for the Fever, a season in which to learn what Caitlin Clark needs around her in order to turn the Fever into a high-level WNBA team. It's clear that Clark needs upgrades at the four positions around her. There are things she specifically can work on to develop — it's not as though she is a finished product; far from it — but she will need more and better support in order to thrive as a WNBA professional. Indiana must continuously learn what works and what doesn't, and identify how to put Clark in the best position to succeed on offense and defense. The Fever are highly unlikely to make the playoffs, but if they leave this season with a very clear plan for restoration and a roadmap which enables them to execute that plan, the folks from Indiana will have achieved something.
The Seattle Storm barely defeated Clark and the Fever by two points, 85-83, in Seattle earlier in May. That was a shaky performance by the Storm, but Seattle has been noticeably better since then. The Storm crushed the Washington Mystics in a massive blowout. They went on the road and handled the Chicago Sky by a comfortable margin, covering the spread. Seattle's defense has clearly improved, and this team finally looks a lot more like the team Seattle fans expected to see at the start of the season. Can Seattle now sustain what it has begun to do in recent weeks?

Why The Storm Could Cover The Spread
Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston are trying to turn the Fever around, but as you can see, the process isn't going well. Indiana hasn't yet won a home game this season, so it's not as though home court should count for something with Indiana or give the Fever a few more points in a betting context. Seattle's improved play over the past week is a great reason to take the Storm, who just did cover a 4.5-point spread on the road against the Chicago Sky, a team which is better than the Fever. If the Storm could do that, they should cover 4.5 points on the road against Indiana as well.
Why The Fever Could Cover The Spread
The Fever are hungry for their first home-court win of the season. They are going to give a robust effort, and they did play the Storm even-steven in Seattle. If the Fever play at that same level in this rematch, they should cover the spread, and the might even win outright.
Final Storm-Fever Prediction & Pick
Betting against the Fever has been the right move most of the time. There's no reason to stop now. Take Seattle.
Final Storm-Fever Prediction & Pick: Storm -4.5
