Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly ended his brilliant career after the 1996 season, but he remains firmly in the corner of the Buffalo Bills. He supports the team wholeheartedly, and he gave the team some serious advice as it prepares for the 2023 NFL season.

Kelly would like to see the team give some support to star quarterback Josh Allen and not force the signal caller to put so much of the burden on his own shoulders.

Kelly advised the Bills to let the running backs take some of the responsibility away from Allen, because that would take the quarterback out of harm's way for more plays than it did in the 2022 season. “Josh can't do it by himself.”

Allen is one of the dominant quarterbacks in the game, but the Bills have fallen short in the playoffs each of the last 4 years. The Bills reached the AFC title game after the 2020 season, but lost in the divisional playoffs each of the last 2 years.

For our 2023 NFL Win Total predictions, listen below:

Allen is a brilliant athlete who possesses one of the strongest arms in the game and is also a dynamic runner. However, when the quarterback does run with the ball, he often puts himself in harm's way and he takes more hard hits than head coach Sean McDermott would like to see.

Devin Singletary rushed for 819 yards last season and is a fine running back, but the Bills tend to defer to Allen when the game is on the line.

Jim Kelly voiced his support for Singletary, and he would like to see the running backs get featured more than they have been in recent years.
