Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is facing an uphill climb as he leads his team this Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game. Aside from the Bills Mafia, Allen can rest assured that he has his hometown's backing.

The City of Firebaugh, California, and his alma matter, Firebaugh High School, posted morale-boosting messages (via Bradley Gelber of Bills Wire).

As Allen readies himself and his teammates for their face-off with the Chiefs, his father is going through a bout of his own. Joel Allen is dealing with COVID-19 and pneumonia. He was hospitalized this January. Allen's father, to the extent of his ability, has attempted to watch all of his son's games physically.

Due to his condition, he would not be able to do so this Sunday. Should the Bills come out on top, the elder Allen might have a chance to watch his son play in football's grandest stage.

The last time the Bills appeared in the AFC Championship Game was in the 1993-94 season. Allen must take care of the football and keep his team in the game. With both teams fielding explosive offenses, one interception could be the difference between going home or going to the Super Bowl.

To help Allen is the NFL's receiving yards leader, Stefon Diggs. He should have a big game or at least provide enough defensive attention to open spaces for the other receivers like Cole Beasley. Lastly, Allen can take the ball and run it himself. Buffalo is a pass-first team, but Allen can take off when the situation calls for it. After all, he had 400 rushing yards and eight touchdowns over the course of the regular season.
