The Buffalo Bills, who currently own a record of 8-3, are inching closer to winning their first division title in 25 years.

During a recent appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Bills quarterback Josh Allen was asked about the possibility of winning the division. In his response, he said eight wins is certainly not enough to win the division, and furthermore, he took a little shot at the NFC East.

“We're sitting at 8-3, and eight wins doesn't win the division — unless you're in the NFC East,” Allen said with a smile. “In all seriousness, coach (Bills head coach Sean) McDermott preaches playoff caliber and our goal is to get into the playoffs. Once you get into the playoffs, anyone has a chance to win it. The easiest way to get into the playoffs is to win your division.”

The NFC East, which includes the Washington Football Team, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys, is clearly one of the worst divisions in the NFL. The Giants are currently the top seed in the division, and they have a record of 4-7. If the Giants were in the AFC East, they would have the third-worst record in the division, so that says a lot about the NFC East.

Nevertheless, as Allen said, eight wins is certainly not enough to win the division. The Bills are only one game ahead of the second-seeded Miami Dolphins, who currently own a record of 7-4. The Bills will be seeking their ninth win of the season when they take on the San Francisco 49ers on Monday.
