Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane was impressed with the film he saw on first-round pick Ed Oliver and he is very excited that he is on their squad. Oliver was a standout with the Houston Cougars racking up 13.5 sacks and 192 tackles in three years but his stats could have been even more impressive. He was constantly being double and triple teamed with other teams making sure he wasn't the reason that they lost games.

In an interview with Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic Beane broke down every one of the draft picks film and had nothing but good things to say about Oliver.

“Quick twitch, quick hands, power,” Beane said. “He had all of that the way he went in and out of the back with tight turns. He was explosive. Once he got his hips flipped and went, he’s rolling. You see him on tape and he’s running at linebacker-speed chasing guys. You don’t see that from bigger nose-tackle types. This guy is running the way Tremaine (Edmunds) is going to run or Matt (Milano) is going to run to the ball. The effort and compete, the way he plays with an edge, that all showed up on tape.”

The expectations are high that Oliver is going to transition well to the NFL and that he can play right away with the Bills. If he can use those moves and power in the NFL he is going to be a problem around the league, just like he was with the Cougars.
