10-time All-Star Carmelo Anthony grabbed headlines on Thursday when it was announced that he had agreed to a deal with the Portland Trail Blazers. The news spread like wildfire, and of course, the guys at NBA on TNT had a few things to say about this recent development. Retired NBA legends Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkley seemed to be on the same page on this one, with both guys meeting this recent signing with a bit of apprehension.

Shaq started things off by saying that this was indeed a great opportunity for Anthony, who has been working so hard over the past months towards this goal. Nevertheless, the former Los Angeles Lakers big man was in agreement with Barkley when the latter pointed out that Melo might not fit in too well with Blazers.

Chuck does make a valid point here, with Portland's backcourt duo of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum being two of the most ball-dominant guards in the NBA today. Anthony himself has been known to require the ball in his hands in order to operate proficiently, which is why Barkley thinks that a distribution problem might potentially develop within the team.

Nevertheless, the poor play of Mario Hezonja to start the season has forced Portland's hand to look elsewhere in terms of production from the four spot, and they have decided to look in Carmelo's direction. This is definitely a golden opportunity for Anthony, and for his sake, we hope that things work out this time around.
