Dejounte Murray of the San Antonio Spurs, who suffered an ACL tear, garnered some support from CJ McCollum of the Portland Trail Blazers. The latter has decided to put competition aside and send Murray some motivational readings while he's recovering.

Check out a screenshot from Murray's Instagram stories, where he posted a photo of a set of motivational books from McCollum.

To recall, Murray suffered the injury in the second quarter of their preseason game against the Houston Rockets. It was heartbreaking injury not just for the Spurs, but for Murray himself. Obviously, it was really cool for the Blazers talent to reach out like that.

He's entering his third season in the league after a breakout season last year where he was named into the NBA All-Defensive Second Team.

Many analysts believe that he's going to be one of the future pillars for the Spurs. He was set to replace Spurs legend Tony Parker in the starting point guard spot after the latter bolted for the Charlotte Hornets in the offseason.

During the preseason games, his teammate Rudy Gay commended the young guard for developing nicely into a great player. For Gay, Murray is their defensive anchor. As per Jeff Garcia of News4sa.com, Gay said:

“He's been our anchor on defense,” Gay said. “He taking big strides.”

“Confidence is something he always had,” Gay said. “But as far as executing it now, he' sharpened and he's becoming a great player.”

While rivalries are fun, it is nice to see a Blazers and Spurs talent get along when the timing calls for it.
