Whenever he competes inside the court, Portland Trail Blazers star guard Damian Lillard is always a picture of intensity and a no-nonsense type of player. He has proven that he can silence, or pump up a crowd with his big time plays and he does not hesitate responding to controversial questions or comments directed at him on social media.

After a tough loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday, it was very understandable that Lillard was not in the best of moods. However, one fan waiting near their team bus decided to test his composure.

Fortunately, the situation did not escalate further, and the Blazers' point guard went to board their bus, after the fan apparently apologized to him, which he acknowledged through a tweet.

An argument could be made that Damian Lillard should have dealt with the heckler differently, but his actions also show that players are humans too, and they get offended with comments that are disrespectful. What transpired should send a strong message to all fans that professional basketball players do not deserve to be treated that way.

The loss on the night snapped the Blazers' three-game winning streak, which could've added to the frustration Lillard was already feeling after the game. The good news for him and the team is that they will have a day off before facing the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday, which they can use to calm themselves, and refocus on the task at hand.
