The bad blood between Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard and Paul George of the Los Angeles Clippers appears to be a thing of the past now. The pair seems to have put their beef behind them, with George recently coming out to backtrack on a comment he made no less than two years ago.

In 2019, George said that Lillard's half-court game-winner against the Oklahoma City Thunder was a “bad shot.” To be fair, that was one of the most disrespectful shots we've seen in NBA Playoffs history. Not only was it a series-winning shot for Lillard, but he also drained it all over PG. In a way, it is quite understandable that George felt the way he did at that point in time.

On Sunday, however, George admitted that he was wrong for making those remarks, saying that he was “criticized (by the media) for the right reasons.” It sounded like an apology, and for his part, Lillard was more than willing to accept the olive branch:

Lillard even shared George's exact quote on his own Instagram account (h/t Tomer Azarly on Twitter):

It seems that this is now all water under the bridge between these two stars. It isn't uncommon for players to get into such heated rivalries with their peers, but at the end of the day, the NBA remains to be one big family.

It's always great when two former foes kiss and makeup. Nevertheless, we're still looking forward to the next matchup between the Blazers and the Clippers. After all, what these guys do on the basketball court goes far beyond what they say off of it.
