Damian Lillard is almost certainly the best rapper in the NBA, and his new Portland Trail Blazers teammate — rookie Nassir Little — wants to prove his microphone fiend bona fides by guesting on a track with the All-NBA point guard.

Lillard, being a good teammate, agreed to let Little in on a guest track with little handwringing:

Lillard, who performs under the pseudonym Dame D.O.L.L.A., has released three albums in his music career on his own label Front Page Music. The first was The Letter O in 2016, followed by Confirmed in 2017. In August, Lillard released his third album Big D.O.L.L.A., featuring guest appearances from Jeremih and Lil Wayne.

The Blazers point guard is hoping to help Little reach his potential after he slipped all the way to No. 25 in the 2019 NBA Draft, despite being a Top 5 high school recruit heading into college.

After a disappointing freshman season with the North Carolina Tar Heels in which he averaged only 9.8 points and 4.6 rebounds per game, Little dropped precipitously down the draft board — allowing the Blazers to stroll to the podium and potentially nab a lottery-level talent in the lower reaches of the first round.

Of course, usually, North Carolina head coach Roy Williams is not shy about playing vaunted freshman, as Little’s fellow 2019 draft classmate Coby White was drafted 18 spots ahead at No.7 overall.

If Lillard can raise Little’s confidence (via rapping or balling), the Blazers might have another key piece for the future.
