Like the success of his first rap album, Damian Lillard has once again made Billboard’s Emerging Artists Charts. However, his latest EP titled “Confirmed,” has debuted on the list higher than what he released last year.

Dame D.O.L.L.A. has reached the highest ranking for his album so far as it opened at number 72 on the Top Album Charts, and 32 on the emerging artists list, according to Xander Zellner of Billboard.com.

“The Portland Trail Blazer and two-time NBA all-star's album arrives with 3,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Oct. 12, according to Nielsen Music. Nearly all of the set's units were via traditional album sales, helping Confirmed open at No. 72 on the Top Album Sales chart.”

“The Emerging Artists chart uses the same formula as the all-encompassing Billboard Artist 100, which measures activity across multiple Billboard charts, including the Hot 100, Billboard 200 and the Social 50. However, the Emerging Artists chart excludes acts that have notched a top 25 entry on either the Hot 100 or Billboard 200, as well as artists that have achieved two or more top 10s on Billboard's “Hot” song genre charts and/or consumption-based “Top” album genre rankings.”

The Portland Trail Blazers star guard has made a lot of noise as an artist, with his smooth groove when rapping. He has also received a lot of praise from fellow artists, as he drops bars without much effort, making it seem like he is a natural with it, just like when he plays basketball. Damian Lillard is now widely-considered the best rapper in the NBA, and is continuing to make a name for himself in the music industry.

The success of his album only goes to show that the Blazers star is also talented inside the recording studio. It’s rare that an All-Star like him also has time to record an album in-between seasons, but he is proving that it’s just a matter of fitting it in his schedule in order to pursue two of his passions.

“Confirmed” features other artists like Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz, just to name a few, and with the attention his album has been receiving, it won’t be surprising if other known rappers will also want to collaborate with him in the future, which could help propel his career to the next level as well.
