Wednesday night will feature what should be an action-packed bout between the Portland Trail Blazers and the New Orleans Pelicans. Prior to the festivities on the court, Pelicans head coach Stan Van Gundy shared his thoughts on Blazers superstar Damian Lillard. Suffice to say, SVG is an admirer of Dame's talents.

Van Gundy had nothing but praise for Lillard, noting what he believes to be one of the most outstanding elements of Lillard's game:

“He is a super-talented guy with unlimited range,” Van Gundy said, via Jay Allen of Rip City Radio 620.

I see no lies here. Lillard has been known to make the occasional 30-footer without any hesitation, and for his part, Van Gundy will be hoping that there will be none of these antics when his team faces off against Lillard and Co. on Wednesday.

SVG went on to say that he believes he's got Lillard all figured out. Then again, this doesn't mean that his team — or any other squad in the league, for that matter — will be able to prevent Dame from doing what he does best:

“If there was a scheme to limit Damian Lillard, he wouldn't be Damian Lillard,” Van Gundy added. “Anyone who watches the NBA, anyone who has a television, knows what this guy does in the 4th quarter.”

Again, more facts from Van Gundy. Lillard is truly a special talent and there are not many who are built like him. He's been playing at an MVP caliber this season, too, and there appear to be no signs of him slowing down anytime soon.
