Deiveson Figueiredo surprised many people when he came out and said he didn't want to defend his UFC flyweight title against Brandon Moreno. The two were supposed to fight for a fourth time before the Brazilian changed his mind.

Deiveson Figueiredo claimed that the reason he wanted the fourth fight cancelled was because of ‘racist' remarks from Brandon Moreno's team. The Mexican fighter spoke to ESPN about the fight potentially being cancelled and the remarks in question.

“I’ve already talked to guys in the UFC, with the top guys in the promotion. They told me the fourth fight is set, and they told me not to worry. The plan is for me to fight again for the title. So I think at this point, Deiveson is running away from me. I’m not lying, the UFC wants Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Brandon Moreno 4, I’ve already said yes. The other side hasn’t.”

Moreno continued, “Chances for him to lose against me are very high and he sees a better opportunity with Kai-Kara France. For him to keep the belt, and make some money. But he knows the only money fight for him is with me, simple facts.”

The situation is very confusing as the UFC seemingly decided on the fourth fight despite there being a number one contender fight at UFC Columbus. It's not clear what exactly is going to happen between Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno but the situation is going to be interesting as it develops. Kai-Kara France will be hoping his opportunity comes to skip Moreno and fight for the title.
