Atlanta Braves superstar Ronald Acuña Jr. has not been able to contribute to his team's World Series run, as he underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL in his right knee in July. But that doesn't mean he can't join in on the fun that his team is having right now.

On the night of the Braves' pennant-clinching victory over the Los Angles Dodgers, Acuña posted a gif of Damian Lillard's famous goodbye wave on his Instagram story. Following the gif, Acuña posted images celebrating Atlanta's National League Championship Series victory.

Atlanta's World Series bid is extremely surprising given that Acuña, the team's best player and arguably one of the very best baseball players in the major leagues, suffered a season-ending injury halfway through the season. The 23-year-old right fielder was one of the team's most valuable players on offense and defense and earned the second All-Star nomination of his four-year career in 2021.

The Braves rallied to win the lackluster NL East — their fourth consecutive division title — behind All-Star first baseman Freddie Freeman, All-Star second baseman Ozzie Albies and mid-season acquisitions Eddie Rosario, Joc Pederson and Adam Duvall. Rosario, who signed with the Braves after being released by the Cleveland Indians, earned NLCS MVP honors by hitting .560/.607/1.040 and a team-leading three home runs.

By taking down the reigning world champions in the NLCS, Atlanta clinched their first National League Pennant since 1999. They'll face the Houston Astros, who have made it to the World Series twice in the past four seasons, for a chance to win their first championship since 1995. The series begins Tuesday in Houston.
