Christian Yelich has been having another MVP type season after winning the prestigious award last year with the Milwaukee Brewers. He has been playing at a level most players can only dream of and that continued on Monday night against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Not only did he hit two home runs against the Pirates on the night, he hit home run No. 39 on the season out of the ballpark and into the river in Pittsburgh.

That's right, take a look for yourself at the monstrous home run from Yelich:

Yelich has been an absolute monster this season for the Brewers. He has compiled a .336 batting average to go along with 39 home runs and 84 RBI. At this point in the year, there are very few players that have a legitimate argument to beat him out for the National League MVP award.

The only other players that are currently keeping pace with Yelich in the National League are Cody Bellinger (36 home runs, 85 RBI), Pete Alonso (35 home runs, 80 RBI), Josh Bell (27 home runs, 89 RBI), and possibly Javier Baez (28 home runs, 76 RBI).

Milwaukee is in the middle of a heated race with the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs for the National League Central division title. They won the division last year and are looking to get back to the playoffs for another run at the World Series.

If Yelich has anything to say about it, the Brewers are going to be in the hunt again. Milwaukee certainly feels that they have arguably the best player in the game right now.
