The Denver Broncos managed to make a splash with the acquisition of former Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback AJ Bouye. He has wasted no time in getting in touch with his new coaching staff.

The Broncos parted ways with a fourth-round pick I order to bring Bouye to town. According to Mike Klis of 9News, he is already familiar with some of head coach Vic Fangio's tendencies:

“After everything becomes official he said he’s excited for me to come. And I talked to Vic. Fred gave me some possibilities about certain teams and I started watching film of Denver’s scheme. I watched Vic when he was DC w/the Bears. So I’m excited.”

It is certainly encouraging o see that Bouye is excited about the fresh start with the Broncos. After all, he had been in a tumultuous situation in Jacksonville and it has since become evident that they are prepared to usher in a significant rebuild this offseason. He will now have an opportunity to get this struggling Denver team back on track.

There is no question that the feeling is mutual with the Broncos. Bouye played an integral role on the Jaguars' formidable defense, registering eight interceptions and 34 pass deflections during his three seasons with the team.

His arrival should serve as a stabilizing factor for a secondary that faces plenty of uncertainty with cornerback Chris Harris set to test the market as a free agent.

Bouye will still have to wait a few weeks to kickstart the process until the new league year starts on March 18.
