Denver Broncos general manager John Elway says the team is exercising its 2020 option on pass rusher Von Miller, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic.

Miller will earn $17.5 million next season.

The 30-year-old just posted his least productive campaign since 2013, registering 46 tackles and eight sacks. He did earn his sixth straight Pro Bowl selection, but it also marked just the second time of his career that he logged a single-digit sack total in an individual season.

Miller, who played his collegiate football at Texas A&M, was originally selected by the Broncos with the second overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft.

He played in 15 games during his rookie campaign and was impressive, registering 64 tackles, 11.5 sacks and three forced fumbles, making the Pro Bowl.

The following year, Miller was even better, racking up 68 tackles, 18.5 sacks, an interception, six forced fumbles and a defensive touchdown, earning another Pro Bowl selection while notching First-Team All-Pro honors in the process.

Then, in 2013, Miller was limited to just nine games due to a suspension and injuries, totaling 34 tackles and five sacks.

Miller bounced back in 2014, posting 66 tackles and 14 sacks to return to the Pro Bowl, something he has done in every year since. He also earned a pair of First-Team All-Pro selections in 2015 and 2016, the former of which also included a Super Bowl championship.

There had been some speculation that the rebuilding Broncos could trade Miller at the trade deadline earlier this season, but Denver opted to hold on to its star and seems content with keeping him around for the future.
