The Denver Broncos traded rookie cornerback Kary Vincent Jr to the Philadelphia Eagles for a future 6th round pick.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that just before the trade deadline passed, Denver once again acquired more future draft picks. This time, they moved their 2021 7th round pick, Kary Vincent Jr, for a 6th rounder in next year's NFL Draft. Clearly, John Elway and the Denver brass are looking toward the future. On Monday, they also acquired the Rams' 2022 2nd round and 3rd picks for Von Miller.

The move is interesting, seeing as Vincent Jr. never played a down for the Broncos during his rookie season this year.

Vincent Jr. played in 32 games at LSU, including 15 during his redshirt junior season. That season, he finished with 47 tackles and 4 interceptions. However, his college career was derailed following an abdomen injury that cost him his entire senior season.

Vincent Jr. was able to play in two preseason games for the Broncos this year, but ultimately never saw the field during the games that count. The Eagles seemingly are always looking for help in the secondary and this is a small price to pay for a young, talented cornerback.

Philadelphia surprisingly ranks 8th in the NFL in yards per game allowed through the air at just over 220. However, those numbers are skewed having played against Jimmy Garoppolo, Sam Darnold and most recently Jared Goff. When the Eagles have gone against elite passing attacks, they have been shredded. They hope adding some depth to their secondary will allow them to stand up to some of the more formidable offenses in the league.
