Aaron Rodgers has been heavily linked with a move to the Denver Broncos this offseason, largely in part because the team managed to poach former Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.

While Hackett is obviously aware of the links between his new team and Rodgers, he hadn't addressed the connections until Tuesday. Via Zac Stevens, when asked about Rodgers, Hackett jokingly pretended not to know who the star QB was.

Hackett proceeded to give the ultimate coach answer when asked about potentially trading for the reigning NFL MVP, saying that he was just excited to be with the Broncos and get started on his next chapter.

Fans can't expect Hackett to be openly talking about a potential Rodgers trade, especially while he's still under contract with the Packers. While it's hard to imagine a scenario in which Hackett doesn't want to bring Rodgers to Denver, it'd be more surprising to hear him admit it than not.

Meanwhile, the Packers are doing everything in their power to convince the 38-year-old to stay, though their star quarterback has been linked with a move away since the last offseason when Rodgers' frustrations with the organization became evident.

The Broncos are a team that could genuinely be a talented quarterback away from being a contender, so fans are eager to keep the links to Rodgers afloat. Hackett's latest comments didn't offer much insight into the situation, as the 42-year-old is more focused on getting off to a strong start in his first-ever NFL head coaching gig.
