The Denver Broncos already have their quarterback of the future in Drew Lock, and they own an awfully expensive backup in Joe Flacco (for now), but that isn't stopping them from looking at other signal-callers, even that means taking a gander at what the XFL has to offer.

According to Mark Berman of Fox 26 KRIV, the Broncos are one of the three teams that have contacted Houston Roughnecks quarterback P.J. Walker. The Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals represent the other interested parties.

In five games with the Roughnecks this season, Walker has thrown for 1,338 yards, 15 touchdowns and four interceptions while completing 65 percent of his passes.

Walker, who played his collegiate football at Temple, went undrafted but signed with the Indianapolis Colts as a free agent in May 2017.

He spent a couple of seasons with the Colts before ultimately being released by the club just before the 2019 campaign.

The 25-year-old only put forth so-so collegiate numbers. He arrived at Temple in 2013 and immediately received significant playing time in his freshman year, finishing with 2,084 yards, 20 touchdowns and eight picks while completing 60.8 percent of his throws and registering a passer rating of 150.8.

Walker than took a massive step back during his sophomore season, totaling 13 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. He rebounded in his junior campaign, throwing for 2,972 yards, 19 touchdowns and eight picks, and during his senior year with the Owls, Walker registered 3,295 yards, 22 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

Over the course of his time at Temple, Walker completed 56.9 percent of his passes.

The Elizabeth, N.J. native also accumulated 771 rushing yards and nine scores on the ground throughout his NCAA tenure.
