The Denver Broncos received a huge scare when veteran linebacker Von Miller went down with a leg injury during their Thursday Night Football tilt against the Cleveland Browns.

The Broncos star was escorted off the field and was no longer allowed to return to the contest by his team's medical staff.

The injury was diagnosed as an ankle injury. All things considered, that should be considered as a huge win for the Broncos  as the injury certainly had the makings of something much worse.

Broncos fans no longer have to hold their breath on the health of their defensive ace as he spoke candidly about the injury postgame. According to him, his ego was bruised even greater than his actual.

Via Nick Kosmider:

“My pride hurts more than anything,” admitted the Broncos star. “I talked a lot of s–t before this game. I wanted that animosity. … I feel like I was on the way to doing some big things.”

The Broncos understandably took the cautious approach with Von Miller for this one. He's as tough as they come but is still fresh from the ankle injury that wiped out his entire 2020 season. According to Miller though, he'll be back in action sooner than everyone thinks.

Via Mike Klis:

“I’m good. They just wouldn’t let me go back in.” Said he would play next week vs Washington. “We still got a long season.”

Broncos fans certainly hope his words ring true come Week 8.
