The Week 10 encounter between the Cleveland Browns and the Houston Texans will feature two prolific defenders in an up-and-coming player like Myles Garrett and a seasoned veteran in J.J.Watt.
As the younger player aiming to make his name known in the league, Myles Garrett will look to prove his worth on the field come Sunday. In fact, he has already shown a ton of upside in the early stages of his career which then earned him the respect from his opponents, including that of Texans interim head coach Romeo Crennel.
“Sure, a player across the field playing your position and trying to do the same thing that you do, there will be more juice, and I think Myles will have more juice as a result of it because of what J.J. has been able to accomplish in his career,” he said. “I like Myles a lot from what I see. He has good length, he has good quickness off the ball, he has flexibility and he doggedly pursues the quarterback. Generally, that means sacks.”
The former Texas A&M product, who signed a five-year extension with the Browns last July, is currently tied with Los Angeles Rams defensive end Aaron Donald for the league lead with nine sacks and four forced fumbles as he aims for the first NFL Defensive Player of the Year award in his fourth season in the league.
On the other hand, Watt has amassed a total of four sacks and two forced fumbles nine weeks into his 10th campaign as a mainstay on the Texans team. The five-time Pro Bowler also recently achieved a career milestone as he recorded his 100th sack last week, becoming only the fourth player in NFL history to accomplish it in 120 games or less.
The Browns are currently listed third in the AFC North standings with a 5-3 record while the Texans continue on their struggles as they settle with a 2-6 tally to nab third place in the AFC South division. Both teams will certainly be hungry with Myles Garrett and Watt leading their respective squads to notch a much-needed win heading into the latter stages of the season.
