David Njoku got into the April Fools' Day spirit early. Amid a hectic offseason full of player movement and players pulling out of deals that were previously agreed to, it seemed like the Cleveland Browns' tight end was on the move.

Njoku, who was franchise tagged by the Browns earlier in the offseason, tweeted that he is requesting a trade. It seemed like he was following in the footsteps of Baker Mayfield and showing his displeasure with the tag by asking out. He clarified quickly that he was joking with a gif of Arthur Spooner from The King of Queens.

The joke fooled plenty of people, including NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. After initially taking the tweet seriously and then deleting his tweet about it, he provided an actual update on Njoku's contract situation. He said that the Browns and their young tight end are in active talks to work out a contract extension.

Last season, Njoku recorded 475 receiving yards on 36 catches with four touchdowns. He will be sticking around to be an option for the passing game next to Amari Cooper and Donovan Peoples-Jones. With Deshaun Watson now throwing him passes, he could be in for a strong season.

The Browns made lots of moves this offseason, the most notable of which being the Watson trade, in an attempt to finally establish themselves as a quality team. They're hoping not to be a joking matter anymore, though shedding that reputation is about as likely as a player requesting a trade on Twitter.
