The Cleveland Browns signed Deshaun Watson to a massive contract, expecting him to be their franchise quarterback. The contract came after the Supreme Court found Watson not guilty of the 22 sexual misconduct lawsuits against him.

Despite the legal results of Watson's case, the NFL still has the power to suspend him. And, according to Ian Rapoport, the league extended its investigation into Watson's case to look into the latest allegations against him.

The NFL insider joined “The Pat MacAfee Show” Thursday afternoon and explained the latest on the situation. He prefaced his explanation by stating that “a couple of weeks ago,” Roger Goodell said the investigation was “coming to a close.”

“When these new allegations came, these are now being looked into,” Rapoport explained. “It's still on the back end…but I don't think it's over, because I believe the league is investigating these new claims as well and talking to Deshaun Watson about it.”

Rapoport is referencing the latest allegations that surfaced through a groundbreaking article published by The New York Times on Tuesday.

According to the article, Watson received massages from at least 66 women over 17 months. The Browns quarterback claims that he hired about 40 massage therapists during his five seasons with the Houston Texans. This allegation is just one of many throughout the article that completely contradict Watson and his legal team's public statements.
