The Cleveland Browns and the Los Angeles Chargers were involved in a dogfight of a football match during Sunday. After a relatively tame three quarters, both offenses boomed, combining for 41 points in the fourth. In the end, though, the Browns couldn't hold on, succumbing to the Chargers 47 – 42.

However, when we say couldn't hold on, we meant that quite literally. All throughout the night, Browns fans were screaming at the referees for some perceived missed or terrible calls. The most egregious of these calls, though, came during the Chargers' offense. On 4th-and-4, Browns cornerback AJ Green got called for defensive pass interference on this… questionable play.

A closer look on this play (courtesy of Brent Sobleski) further shows just how bad of a call it was. It could be clearly seen that Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams was holding on to Green. Yet, for some god-knows-what reason, the officials decided that this was a DPI on the Browns CB. What in the world?

Browns fans are livid over this call, and for good reason. The Chargers would get the first down due to the penalty awarded to them, and would go on to score a touchdown. If the Browns weren't called for that DPI, the Chargers offense would've been over. Maybe, just maybe, that could've been the moment that the Browns needed to grab the win.

This was just another episode in what Browns fans consider to be the league's vendetta against them. Time and time again, Cleveland seems to always be on the wrong side of a terrible call. This one, though, takes the cake. It doesn't take a football nerd to know that this play wasn't a DPI at all. Williams was clearly grabbing onto Green.

With this heartbreaking loss, the Browns drop to 3-2. Not a bad start for them considering their injuries, but this loss surely left a bad taste in their mouths.
