Former Minnesota Golden Gophers defensive back Antoine Winfield Jr. is the son of former NFL defensive back Antoine Winfield while now officially joining his father atop the highest level. Over the weekend, Winfield Jr. was selected by the up-and-coming Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

However, it was not just solely the stellar play of Winfield Jr. that saw him get taken by the Buccaneers, but also his “lucky underwear.” According to a recent social media post from Winfield Jr., the soon-to-be rookie defensive back attributes his recent NFL Draft success to his “secret weapon.”

It should also be noted that his lucky underwear do indeed resemble one of the Buccaneers' primary colors from back in the day.

Of course, Winfield Jr. is just one of the Buccaneers' notable pickups this offseason. Joining a rookie class that will also feature former Iowa Hawkeyes offensive tackle and 2020 first-round NFL Draft pick Tristan Wirfs, Winfield Jr. will also have some well-known figures as teammates in Tampa Bay with former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and previously retired tight end Rob Gronkowski making their way south this offseason.

Head coach Bruce Arians is cooking something serious up in Tampa Bay so it seems with the Buccaneers continuing to build the team's 2020-21 roster brick by brick. With both veterans and some younger guys in the mix for Arians, the Buccaneers remain in position to make some real noise in the NFC South and beyond come next season.
