At 69, Bruce Arians is one of the most senior shot-callers in all of the NFL. Unsurprisingly, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach has been facing questions about his retirement — especially after his superstar quarterback, Tom Brady, decided to call it a career a few weeks ago.

For his part, however, Arians isn't ready to enjoy life after the NFL just yet. According to the Bucs coach himself, he's enjoying his job too much to even consider retirement at this point:

“I tried retirement and it didn't work out too good,” Arians said, via Frank Bodani of the York Daily Record. “I'm having a good time. It's easy for me with my coordinators coming back. Why not coach?

“I don’t really know anything else. And the building of relationships, the new guys coming in …,” he stopped himself in mid-sentence. “I never thought I'd coach Tom Brady, and if I was still retired I never would have won a Super Bowl (as a head coach). Coming out of the tunnel every Sunday is awesome.”

It sounds like Arians nearly spilled the beans here. Perhaps he already has a firm idea who the Buccaneers intend to bring in to replace the GOAT. Although let's be honest, there's just no replacing Tom Brady.

Whatever the case may be, it is clear that Bruce Arians intends to see out the post-Brady era in Tampa. He already has his sights set for the season ahead and seemingly, the years to come. It is also clear that the Bucs organization is happy to keep him at the helm.

One major thing that has Arians working for him is that his wife, Christine Arians, has his full support:

“We had that (retirement) talk … so we'll see what next year brings,” Christine Arians said. “He loves it. Are you kidding me?

“It's a challenge. He loves a challenge.”

As they always say, a happy wife equates to a happy life. Christine appears to be more than happy to support her husband in his coaching career and at least this is less one thing Bruce Arians has to worry about.
