Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians gushes about Tom Brady’s leadership

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians has nothing but praise for Tom Brady’s leadership with his new team. Making an appearance on Los Angeles Angels manager Joe Maddon’s Uncorked YouTube show, Arians said the team had a great locker room before, but adding a future Hall of Famer to the team is special:

“We got a great locker room, but to now get a guy that’s been there, done it, six times, the G.O.A.T.? When he talks, they listen. It’s so different than a coach. I think for us as coaches, there has to be a bond between the coach and those guys so that you give them ownership. You ask them questions. How do you want to do things? So if they think they have a big hand in it, they send a message to the rest of the guys. They send your message to the rest of the guys. With Tom, it’s been fantastic.”

Arians used to work as Peyton Manning’s quarterbacks coach so he saw firsthand how well he could command a room. As impressive as Manning was, Arians is confident Brady can have the same impact on the Buccaneers offense. Arians added,

“The way [Manning] commanded the room and the team was amazing. What he asked those guys to do. I’m sure Tom Brady has a lot of the same things. Just the little bit I’ve been around him so far, it’s going to be the same way.”

Brady being a strong leader is great, but everyone knew that heading into this situation. All fans of the Buccaneers care about is wins, something they hope Brady will bring in frequently. If the wins don’t come, it won’t matter how great of a teammate he was; his time with the team will be a failure.
