Bruce Arians became the subject of attention on Saturday night, for all the wrong reasons. A report from Rich Ohrnberger alleged that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach's meddling with Tom Brady and Byron Leftwich was part of the reason of the QB's sudden retirement.

A day after those rumors circulated, Bruce Arians addressed the media regarding these rumors. Arians vehemently denied the rumors regarding his relationship with the ex-Buccaneers QB.

“It seems like there’s one (story) every day now… Everybody is speculating he’s going somewhere else. That don’t bother me. This other bulls—, the relationship thing, that’s so far-fetched… I mean, that’s such bulls—. That’s what pisses me off. I guess probably Byron could corroborate this, too.’’

Orhnberger's tweet about Brady and Arians became the talk of the town in NFL circles. Many felt like this was a great explanation for the Buccaneers retiring, as they could not fathom him retiring despite leading the NFL in passing yards. It felt anti-climactic, especially with how he nearly led a comeback in the Divisional Round.

However, the likely truth of the matter is that Brady is done with the whole football thing. The Buccaneers quarterback has long expressed his desire to be with his family, a luxury he didn't have as an elite player. Even Arians himself said that it was unlikely for Brady to return to the game.

“That would shock me. And he let us [Buccaneers] know in time to do the free agency like we’ve done in the past, that’s why I don’t see it happening.’’
