Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin recently sustained a fracture in his left index finger after making a touchdown catch in their Week 7 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. He will be sidelined in their upcoming encounter versus the New York Giants and could make his return come Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints, as per Rick Stroud.

The former Penn State standout was once again a steady contributor for the Buccaneers. He amassed 88 receiving yards on nine receptions and a scored touchdown for his team. His other teammates in wideout Sean Miller and tight end Rob Gronkowski both joined the scoring party and each scored a touchdown of their own.

Bruce Arians and his men showed their offensive prowess by mounting huge scoring runs in the second and fourth quarters of the game. Tampa Bay's defensive rotation also caused nightmares for the Raiders players throughout the matchup.

The Bucs eventually snagged a lopsided win against the Men in Black on a 45-20 decision. With the win, the team improved to 5-2 and remained in sole possession of the top spot in the stacked NFC South. The Raiders' loss crashed them to 3-3 to nab second place in the AFC West.

The team will aim to extend their win streak to three games as they go up against the skidding Giants in Week 8 proceedings. If things go as scheduled, Godwin's return will coincide with the debut game of controversial wide receiver Antonio Brown in a heavyweight matchup against the Saints for Week 9 action.
