The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a decision to make when it comes to Gerald McCoy. Do they trade him or keep him on the roster for the 2019 season?

In an article by Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, the veteran defensive tackle says “I'll be playing football somewhere” in 2019 but is unsure if it will be in Tampa Bay.

McCoy said all of this at the Dick Vitale Gala when he was interviewed by SpectrumSports 360's Mike Cairns. Here's a video of a snippet of the interview.

Buccaneers fans probably aren't feeling reassured after that type of response. McCoy has spent all nine of his seasons in the NFL with Tampa Bay but he may have already played his last down with the franchise.

There have been rumors all offseason that Bruce Arians and the front office could look to trade McCoy. So far, nothing has happened but with offseason programs beginning, a decision needs to be made soon.

The veteran defensive tackle is still one of the best defensive tackles in the NFL. In 2018, McCoy had 28 total tackles, six sacks, six tackles for loss, and 21 quarterback hits.

McCoy turned 31 in February but his love for the game hasn't changed at all. One of the reasons he is on the trade block is the fact that he is due nearly $33.5 million over the next three seasons.

It's hard to think about paying a defensive tackle who is 33-years old, $10.5 million. There are teams who need a defensive tackle but is his price worth it?

Who knows, but we all we do know is that we could see McCoy in a different uniform in the first time in his NFL career in 2019.
