The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the Los Angeles Rams despite engineering an incredible comeback effort late in the game. Down 27-3, it must have taken the Buccaneers some serious mental strength to claw back and make the game against the Rams interesting. However, there was a feat of mental strength and fortitude going on behind the scenes as well. Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette suited up and played against the Rams despite receiving some horrific family news just days before the contest, as reported by NBC Sports.

“This whole week has been a very difficult week. Two days prior to the game my cousin got killed,” Fournette said today. “It’s been a long week for me. But I’m happy I got a chance to go out there.”

That is awful. It's difficult to imagine what Leonard Fournette was going through leading up the Rams game, but it's amazing that he was able to play in the game with such a tragedy weighing on his mind.

Renard Fournette, 27 years old and the cousin of Leonard, was shot and killed on Friday, as confirmed by WDSU in New Orleans.

The thoughts and prayers of the NFL and sports world are with Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette and his family during this tough time.
