The news of Tom Brady deciding to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has definitely been received well in Tampa Bay. Needless to say, players on the roster are ecstatic with the move. Following the historic signing, Ryan Jansen is amped for the arrival of Brady.

“When I first heard the news, I was pretty excited, having ‘The GOAT’ sign down here,” Jensen said, via the team’s official website. “To be able to protect [Brady] and be his center, it’s a pretty big deal and I’m excited. . . .

Jensen has started at center for the Buccaneers in the last two seasons. The veteran center is going to be responsible for snapping the ball to Brady. As a result of signing Brady, the Jensen believes Brady will have a positive effect on the offensive line.

“When you watch Tom, he gets rid of the ball on time,” Jensen said. “Statistically, he’s getting rid of the ball sometimes a half second sooner than a lot of quarterbacks. That helps the line. With us, that allows us to be a little bit more aggressive at the line of scrimmage in passing downs — to jump set and keep the pocket a little bit firmer.”

While with the New England Patriots, Brady was known to have a heightened pocket presence and he tends to get the ball out quickly. Given that, that makes Jensen and the other members of the offensive line's job easier.

Even though Brady isn't the most athletic quarterback, his footwork in the pocket is masterful. With Brady arriving in Tampa Bay, it's safe to say his teammates are excited to learn from him next season.
