The Tampa Bay Buccaneers reshuffled their coaching staff by elevating defensive coordinator Todd Bowles to head coach while Bruce Arians retires from coaching trades his sideline gig for a front-office one.

As those two key coaches change places, the third key coach remains intact. According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, the Buccaneers plan to keep Byron Leftwich as the team's offensive coordinator.

Leftwich has been the Buccaneers' OC since 2019. With the help of Tom Brady, he has helped elevate the team's offense into one of the best in the league. Now, they will get a third chance to work together with a new head coach. Leftwich could see his responsibilities increase, even after already having a lot of control last season, since Bowles is more of a defensive guru.

Tampa Bay's offseason has been a complete whirlwind. Brady's retirement and unretirement followed by Arians' sudden retirement have made it tough to track where they will end up next season. Now that Brady is firmly back and their coaching situation is resolved, it is finally be safe to pencil them in as favorites for the NFC South, if not the whole conference.

The Buccaneers still have some work to do with their roster. Replacing Jordan Whitehead with Logan Ryan was a smart move but they still have to make sure they have a suitable replacement for Alex Cappa. Regardless of how they replace him at guard, they should still be competitive behind Brady and have a very strong supporting cast.
