With the COVID-19 crisis continuing to ravage the globe, social distancing is the new way of life as people realize just how important it is to keep our distance from one another in public if you have to venture out. The best way to stop the spread of the pandemic is simply not going out.

One former NFL player that is singing the praises of social distancing is Warren Sapp of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who took to Instagram to show his outrage that people are still refusing to take this global pandemic seriously:

His post proclaims that “we running the score up,” which likely refers to the fact that the United States is far and away leading the entire world in total cases of the coronavirus – though it is currently behind Italy and Spain in terms of deaths due to the disease.

However, if people do not take social distancing seriously, the country will quickly overtake those countries’ death tolls.

As of this writing, the U.S. has tallied up a stunning 245,066 total cases of COVID-19, which is over 130,000 more than the second-highest total, which belongs to Italy. Spain is third with 112,065 cases of the highly contagious disease.

Sapp played 13 seasons in the NFL with the Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders, nine of which took place with the Bucs, where he won a Super Bowl in 2002. The mammoth defensive lineman made the Pro Bowl seven straight seasons from 1997 to 2003 and finished his career with the second-most sacks all-time in Buccaneers history with 77.
