Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks can't be happy that they fell short in Game 1 against the Phoenix Suns. But just the fact that the Greek Freak was on the court for them was already a blessing.

Giannis spoke candidly about his recovery from the hyperextended knee he suffered against the Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Bucks star clearly didn't want to put too much focus on his lingering knee issue, but towards the end of his answer on the incident, Giannis admitted that even he thought it was over for him in that moment.

“When the play happened I thought, ‘I’m going to be out for a year,'” the Bucks star bared. “I’m just happy that two games later I’m back.”

What a roller coaster of emotions that certainly was for Bucks fans, and of course, Giannis Antetokounmpo himself. Watching the clip of the injury, you'd definitely not expect that Giannis was going to be playing anytime soon. The injury looked like one that could have kept him out for months, if not an entire year. And yet thankfully just a week later, he's back putting Suns defenders on posters as he tried to stem the tide in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

The Bucks have a tough balancing act they need to maintain as the series wages on. They clearly need Giannis Antetokounmpo to play in every possible minute that he can. But at the same time, you don't have to overexert him and put him at risk of an ever worse injury. In a postseason that has seemingly been defined by franchise stars getting hurt, let's hope everyone escapes this final stretch of basketball with a clean bill of health.
