Fans and media piled on Milwaukee Bucks forward and All-Star captain Giannis Antetokounmpo for his questionable strategy during the recent All-Star draft between him and fellow captain LeBron James.

Per Ben Golliver of the Washington Post, Antetokounmpo had one strategy going into the draft: pick the underdogs. Considering himself an underdog, the reigning league MVP wanted to pick like-minded players.

In order, Giannis selected Joel Embiid, Pascal Siakam, Kemba Walker, Trae Young, Khris Middleton, Bam Adebayo, Rudy Gobert, Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry, Brandon Ingram and Donovan Mitchell.

With eight of Giannis' 11 selections coming from Eastern Conference teams, it's also clear that Antetokounmpo favored players that he plays against more often as a member of the Bucks. The Greek Freak also picked his Milwaukee teammate in Khris Middleton.

Also noteworthy, Antetokoumpo selected three international players in Embiid, Siakam and Gobert — with the Utah Jazz big man being from France and both Siakam and Embiid hailing from Cameroon.

2020 marks the second season in a row that Antetokoumpo was named All-Star captain. The Bucks superstar received similar criticism for his team picking skills last season, as his squad fell to Team LeBron 178-164.

On the court, the Greek Freak has continued to dominate. The 6-foot-11 superstar is averaging a career-high 30.0 points, 13.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks per game while shooting 54.9 percent from the field and 31.3 percent from deep.

Giannis Antetokounmpo's stellar play has allowed Milwaukee to come out of the gates as arguably the best team in the entire NBA. At 46-8, the Bucks not only lead the Eastern Conference but have the best winning percentage in the league.
