It had been rumored earlier this year by Nick DePaula of ESPN that Giannis Antetokounmpo's signature shoe would drop sometime in the fall. Giannis on Twitter seems to be confirming that it is at least coming, although he doesn't give an exact date of when the “Greek Freak 1” will drop.

It was announced November 2017 that Giannis would have his own signature shoe with Nike, and if it was to be released this fall, that would actually be quick, as most usually take between 14 and 19 months to drop after being announced.

There haven't been any sneak peaks of the shoe, but Giannis did tell NBA.com, how he dreamed his shoe would look like.

“It’s going to be nice. It’s going to be a mix of Kobe’s and Kyrie. That’s what I want to do … I get to help design it. I have full input on the shoe.”

If it is going to end up being a mix of the Kobe and the Kyrie's that means they will probably be low cut, which makes sense because he currently wears a low cut shoe on the court.

Antetokounmpo is set to make between $7-10 million per season with this deal, and depending on how the shoe sells, there is always the chance to make so much more.

For Nike, they need to make sure they get this shoe right because this could end up being one of their more popular lines. Not only is Antenkounmpo already a superstar in this league, but he is also a huge star overseas.
