The top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks fell to the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the NBA Playoffs as Giannis Antetokounmpo left early with a back contusion. However, Monday brought several optimistic updates on Antetokounmpo's injury.

The first came from Shams Charania: “There is optimism surrounding Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo (back) availability for Game 2 vs. Miami on Wednesday, sources say.”

Later in the day, Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer said Giannis' MRI came back “clean,” per The Athletic's Eric Nehm. Budenholzer noted that the two-time MVP is still “sore” and will be monitored closely over the coming days leading up to Game 2. The Bucks coach also admitted to being “probably fortunate” about the multiple-day layoff between Games 1 and 2.

If Giannis Antetokounmpo can return for Game 2, that would be huge for the Bucks, and that sure looks to be the way it's trending, at least per these reports. Of course, nothing is set in stone just yet.

The Heat got the win 130-117 in Game 1, and Giannis left after taking a hard foul after a blocking foul on Kevin Love:

With Giannis playing just 10 minutes on Sunday, Khris Middleton stepped up and led the Bucks with 33 points and nine rebounds, while Jrue Holiday added 16 points and 16 assists in the loss. Jimmy Butler had 35 points and 11 assists, while Bam Adebayo added 22 points with nine rebounds and seven assists in the victory.

If Giannis is limited in this series, the Bucks will need to find a way to get things done. Even if he does play in Game 2 moving forward, there is a chance he is not 100%.

Milwaukee needs to bounce back and avoid falling in a big hole when the series shifts to Miami. The Bucks are heavy favorites in this series and a top NBA title favorite, but they are already dealing with some early adversity.
