Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has officially been ruled out for Game 5 against the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday night, the team announced.

This was expected after Giannis was initially ruled doubtful due to a hyperextended knee. The Greek Freak suffered the injury in a Game 4 blowout loss that saw the Hawks tie up the series at 2-2.

While Antetokounmpo doesn't have structural damage to the knee, it seems it's going to be tough for him to be able to return for this series. The injury looked really nasty when it happened, so even though he avoided the worst-case scenario, he's going to need some luck to return.

With the Bucks missing their best player for this crucial Game 5, others are going to have to step up in a big way. Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday have run hot and cold in these playoffs, and Milwaukee is going to need them to be hot on Thursday night. Brook Lopez, Bobby Portis, and Pat Connaughton, among others, will need to make contributions.

The Hawks are dealing with their own injury issues, with Trae Young's status still uncertain. But Atlanta has great depth and played extremely well without Young in Game 4, so this team has confidence in its ability to come away victorious even if the star point guard doesn't play.
