On Monday afternoon, the Milwaukee Bucks announced on Twitter that they have assigned forward Jabari Parker to the Wisconsin Herd of the NBA G League.

This is certainly very encouraging news to hear from the organization, to say the least. Recently, the Bucks targeted a February return to the team's active NBA roster for Parker. This would be about one year after he suffered his second major knee injury since being selected with the second overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.

Parker, who continues to work very hard to get back to 100 percent, opened up to Steve Aschburner of NBA.com last month about his recovery process.

“This season is successful for me, personally, if I’m able to play again,” Parker said. “Get better. Being efficient. Playing in the playoffs — I’ve never done that, so that would be good to experience. And just make it through, take it day by day and game by game and see where it goes.

In 51 games during the 2016-17 season, Parker averaged 20.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.0 steals per game in 33.9 minutes of action per contest. Unfortunately for Parker, he tore his left ACL on Feb. 8 against the Miami Heat and underwent surgery to repair his knee on Feb. 14.

With Parker's return, the Bucks will become that much more dangerous down the stretch of the season as an Eastern Conference team.
