The Milwaukee Bucks are expected to be among the teams looking to add some talent to the roster during the NBA buyout season, and one player they have been linked to early on is Goran Dragic. Following Dragic's trade from the Toronto Raptors to the San Antonio Spurs, it's widely expected that the Spurs buy out the 35-year-old. Per Adrian Wojnarowski, the Bucks are expected to be “aggressive” in their pursuit of Dragic on the buyout market, especially following the departure of Donte DiVincenzo at the trade deadline and the subsequent hand injury to Pat Connaughton.
The link to Dragic makes sense, given DiVincenzo is no longer in town and Connaughton will miss much of the rest of the year after he undergoes surgery to repair a fractured fourth metacarpal in his right hand. Dragic only appeared in five games for the Raptors this season before the two sides agreed mutually to allow him to train away from the team until a trade could be sorted out. Despite getting his wishes and being dealt to the Spurs, it's not expected that will be Dragic's final destination.
The Bucks are now expected to be “aggressive” pursuers of Dragic, who has been linked to various organizations including the Golden State Warriors, Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls, and Los Angeles Lakers.
With Connaughton sidelined for the foreseeable future, adding a talented player like Dragic to the Bucks' backcourt could pay dividends towards their chances of repeating as NBA champions. They'll have some competition in order to secure his signature, however, as he's anticipated to be one of the hottest commodities on the buyout market.
