There was never much doubt, but it's now clearer than ever where Mike Budenholzer stands on the process versus results debate as it related to the postseason.

After the Milwaukee Bucks thrashed the Toronto Raptors on Friday to take a 2-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals, Budenholzer reiterated that his team will always fall back on the principals and formula that's propelled them to so much success in 2018-19.

“We're gonna lose some games, and we're gonna keep doing what we've been doing all year. You can't just base it on the results. Obviously, tonight was a huge positive,” he said on NBA TV. “The guys have learned a way to play. They believe in it, we believe in it. The more positive results you get, sure, it reenforces it. It just lets them know that nothing's gonna change.

“We'll just continue that going into Game 3, win or lose, going into Game 4,” Mike Budenholzer continued. “Everybody's built their habits, everybody to some degree is who they are. Now you just gotta go out and execute and do what you've been doing.”

As he says, that approach is easy for the Bucks to believe in after two convincing wins at Fiserv Forum. There's also the fact that Milwaukee just isn't the type of team that can deviate much from its ingrained style on either end of the floor. As talented, deep, long, and athletic as this team is, it just doesn't have the personnel to engage in much stylistic versatility.

The Raptors, at least theoretically, do fit that bill. We'll see if they prove it by making subtle changes that lead to victory in Game 3.
