The new NFL season is officially drawing nearer. The league released the full schedule of games on Wednesday and it certainly got fans excited. The same can be said for Tom Brady Sr., the father of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' superstar quarterback, who could not help but take a not-so-veiled shot at the GOAT's former team in the New England Patriots.

As soon as he realized that the Bucs were heading to New England to face off against the Patriots in Week 4, Brady Sr. just had to talk a bit of smack towards his son's former squad:

“I saw the schedule come out last night, and I started salivating when I saw that we play the Patriots in the fourth game of the season and that we're coming up here to make our record 4-0 after the fourth game,” Brady Sr. said on the Zolak and Bertrand radio show on 98.5 The Sports Hub in Boston, via Jenna Laine of ESPN.

Having been with the Pats for two decades, Tom Brady is an undeniably well-loved figure in all of New England. Nevertheless, he's wearing a different uniform now, and this message from his own father serves as a stark reminder that when it comes to the football field, all the adoration and cordiality will have to be temporarily set aside.

Tom Brady himself had something to say as soon as he saw the schedule, so the Patriots legend took to Twitter to express his feelings towards what should be a very interesting Week 4 matchup between his Bucs and the Pats:

The game between the Bucs and the Pats already carries a ton of weight on itself, but obviously, the Tom Brady revenge narrative is what takes it over the edge. Mark your calendars, folks, this should be a good one.
