The Buffalo Bills Week 17 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons has everything on the line. Buffalo aims to clinch the AFC East, while Atlanta hopes to keep their playoff hopes alive. We take a look at this Bills-Falcons matchup with some of our Bills Week 17 predictions in mind.

Buffalo's defense stepped up when they needed to in Week 16 against the New England Patriots. Now, they'll be taking on the Falcons who have been led by Cordarrelle Patterson this year. If the Bills hope to win this game, they must find a way to slow down Patterson.

The passing attack has been on point this year and we could see it reach new heights on Sunday. However, it's the run game that could stun the Falcons. It's not the most efficient in the league, but the Bills need to get one of their running backs going in this matchup. If they can do that, Stefon Diggs' and Josh Allen's lives become much easier.

With that said, here are four bold Bills Week 17 predictions for their game against the Falcons.

Bills Week 17 Predictions

4. Bills defense shuts down Cordarrelle Patterson

The dirty birds have been riding Cordarrelle Patterson's hot hand all year. For that reason, slowing him down must be the Bills' top priority. Doing so will be difficult, as Atlanta has been feeding him the ball creatively. Look for Buffalo to focus on Patterson throughout this matchup, as keeping him out of the endzone will be the easiest route to victory.

3. Somehow, Buffalo's running backs rush for over 100 yards

Josh Allen has been Buffalo's most efficient running back the last two years. However, that needs to change if the Bills hope to make another deep playoff run. Whether it's Devin Singletary or Zack Moss, it doesn't matter. If this offense can get the rushing attack going with their running backs, they'll become a much more prolific unit.

Look for the Bills to use the pass to open up the run game. Typically it's in reverse order, but for Buffalo, this is the best strategy to get their running backs going. Singletary has been more trustworthy this year, but Moss has had his moments too. Either way, look for the coaching staff to feed the rock to their backfield on Sunday.

2. Stefon Diggs goes bonkers with 3 touchdown grabs

Stefon Diggs is easily one of the most impressive wide receivers in the league. He has all of the tools necessary and is a threat to take it to the house on any given play. Although AJ Terrell has been a phenomenal cornerback, the Falcons tend to keep him on one side of the field. For that reason, we should see Diggs put up big numbers, as the Bills will take advantage of the rest of Atlanta's secondary.

1. Josh Allen goes off for 300+ yards and 4+ touchdowns

Where would the Bills be without Josh Allen? He does everything for this team, as the offense runs through him. Buffalo is at their best when Allen is dealing, and that's exactly what he should do on Sunday. This is a preferable matchup for this team and they'll be looking to exploit it from the get-go.

To do that, the Bills are likely to air it out early and often. Considering how bad the Falcons' defense has been this year, Buffalo should be able to easily take advantage. Make sure to catch this game, as Josh Allen could be in for a career day against Atlanta.
