The regular season hasn't begun yet, but Chicago Bulls forward Bobby Portis is already doubling down on his playoff guarantee after recently saying the young squad would make the playoffs.

Uninterrupted posted a video on Twitter of Portis responding to a few simple questions. When asked about the playoffs, Portis responded by saying “guaranteed.” He went on to clarify by saying that he meant in real life, rather than 2K Sports' latest edition of the world's most popular basketball video game.

Portis elaborated by saying he has been focusing on his core and explosiveness over the offseason. He isn't just playing for himself, because he wants to put the entire state of Arkansas on his back.

Portis was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, and he stayed home to play his college ball in Arkansas as well. Since being selected with the No. 22 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, he has been working to put the Bulls back on the map.

Last season, the Bulls had a 27-55 record, placing them 13th in the Eastern Conference. They'll have to improve upon that effort if they want to be considered a threat by anyone. However, they seem to be in a position to do so.

Zach LaVine looked impressive in the Bulls' preseason opener, prompting Portis to predict big things this season for the guard. The team also acquired Jabari Parker, who still has plenty of upside at 23 years old. Second-year big man Lauri Markkanen will be dealing with an elbow injury for 6-8 weeks, so Portis will see a bump in minutes until he returns.

Portis averaged 13.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists for the 2017-18 season. All of these were career highs. He even ventured behind the arc more frequently, shooting 35.9 percent from deep. The Eastern Conference is wide open, so the Bulls want to show they have what it takes to compete.
