With Jimmy Butler off to the Twin Cities, Chicago Bulls shooting guard Dwyane Wade could soon be looking at a different destination as the team has opted to rebuild.

Wade opted into the second year of his contract with his hometown team, and Bulls vice president John Paxson is acting as if Wade will play out the entire season with them, but expressed that any type of buyout would have to be “advantageous” for the team, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.

As Wade said, he has 24 million reasons to opt into the last year of his deal, and he'll likely have to leave a good chunk on the table to go and play for a contender.

The 6-foot-4 shooting guard will turn 36 in January and will be forced to make a choice rather swiftly in the offseason to know where he'll wind up through the last years of his career.

Most contending teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers, don't have very much cap space to sign him to a hefty contract, so he'll likely have to take a very deep discount to join a winner, or he could opt to finish out his career with the Miami Heat after leaving the door open for a return this past season.

The Bulls declined their team-option on point guard Michael Carter-Williams and could have yet another tough choice to make with Rajon Rondo, weighing on whether he does or doesn't fit Fred Hoiberg‘s system for the future.
