DeMar DeRozan's first season with the Chicago Bulls could not have done any better. Both the All-Star forward and the team have revived their images and showing the NBA that they are legit.

DeRozan has played a crucial role in reviving the Bulls, leading them in scoring with 28.1 points per game. He earned a spot in the All-Star starting lineup and has broken a record set by Wilt Chamberlain. The Hall-of-Fame center and 100-point game scorer owns countless NBA records. DeRozan took one from him by scoring 35 points on 50 percent shooting in seven consecutive games.

Everyone around the league knows that DeRozan is on a tear. Kevin Durant thanked Chicago's star for the brilliant display he is putting on. Alex Caruso was incredulous that his teammate beat a record from Chamberlain, whose statistical footprint is among the most legendary in all of sports.

Caruso has had to watch DeRozan's unreal stretch from the sidelines due to a wrist injury. He could be cleared to resume basketball workouts next week, gearing him up for a return before the regular season ends. When healthy, he has been a key part of the Bulls' lineup with his stupendous defense.

The Bulls, at 38-21, will head into the All-Star break with one of the best records in the Eastern Conference. Giving Caruso, Zach LaVine and Lonzo Ball more time to bounce back from injuries should help them charge their way through the rest of the regular season. Thanks to DeRozan's unreal scoring, the Bulls' four-year playoff drought will very likely be snapped.
