The Chicago Bulls have remained interested in acquiring lefty shooting guard Rodney Hood, but while the clock is ticking down on this trade deadline, the front office has got to be alert with what can come down the pipe this summer.

Zach LaVine's impending free agency could throw a wrench in this plans, as the Bulls will have to have enough cap allocated to re-signing him as one of their pillars of the future, according to Vincent Goodwill of NBC Sports Chicago.

The Detroit Pistons and the Oklahoma City Thunder have also arisen as strong suitors for Hood, who has battled problems with inconsistencies and injuries his whole career.

At the moment, the Bulls have LaVine, Justin Holliday, Denzel Valentine, David Nwaba and others manning the wing, and acquiring Hood will likely mean making the ensuing moves to assure he gets the playing time to flourish in Fred Hoiberg's system.

Hood's restricted free agent tag could complicate matters even worse, according to Goodwill. The Bulls are determined to grow through their youth and have put all their faith in Hoiberg to mold them to his system, but even 26-year-old Hood could see some complications, now expecting a much more lucrative contract coming into his free agency stint.

Hood is averaging 16.4 points on 41 percent shooting, along with 2.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. While this is certainly his best scoring season, this is also one that has seen him unable to improve shooting the ball, still managing to be around the low 40s.
